[[Vampires]] have a long and complicated history on [[Hemia]]. The earliest known appearance of [[vampires]] in the realm occurred after [[The Calamity]]. Ever since, they have been seen as evil seductresses, enthralling young women of good standing and corrupting them. The [[vampires]] are well aware of the trouble their presence causes amongst the dayfolk of [[Hemia]]. So, rather than align their behaviours to the simplistic views held of them by most Hemians, they move to influence society in the shadows, hiding in plain sight, never letting it be known who they truly are. In vampire society on [[Hemia]], age is a factor that grants one power and respect. However, power can also be gained through influence and cunning. The Hemian [[vampires]] are ruled by [[Queen Carmen]]. She is not the oldest vampire on [[Hemia]], however she has proven herself to be one of the most clever - shoring up her power through schemes and plots, and quickly dispatching any challenges to her throne.
